Summer Tour 2021

Every summer, Jong Metropole tours around with a symphonic jazz/ pop repertoire out of the rich library of the Metropole Orchestra. The orchestra also performs a new work written by the composer who won the Rogier van Otterloo Award in the preceding summer. During the Summer Tour 2021, this new work will be composed by Damiano Pascarelli, winner of the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2019.

After one week of rehearsals, the Jong Metropole will tour through the Netherlands, visiting three to four unusual concert venues. Concerts will take place, for instance, during the NJO Music Summer Festival. Also, Jong Metropole has been invited to play in Berlin during the international youth orchestra festival Young Euro Classics.

The German conductor, arranger and band leader Jochen Neuffer, know from several successful projects with the Metropole Orchestra, will be leading the Summer Tour 2021. The soloist will be Kika Sprangers (saxophone). She took part in the very first edition of Jong Metropole and will return as the soloist in the summer of 2021.

During this Summer Tour, the winner of the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2021 will be announced.
