Audition and musicians
Jong Metropole is open to musicians who are at least 18 years old but less than 27 years old who study at a conservatoire. Students at conservatoires in the Netherlands and students with the Dutch nationality at conservatoires outside of the Netherlands can apply for a position in Jong Metropole. Applicants need to audition before they can be accepted as a Jong Metropole member. Jong Metropole decides about the placement of applicants, based on the advice of the audition jury. Please check Programme & planning for upcoming projects and audition dates. On How to prepare you will find all information you need about the audition.
Where classical and jazz meet
One of the most important goals of Jong Metropole is to bridge the gap between conservatoire education of individual students and professional practice. Jong Metropole offers conservatoire students an inspiring experience, creating and working together with the best conductors, coaches and other professionals. In this orchestra, students from both classical and jazz departments at conservatoires meet each other. They not only experience the unique Metropole formation and perform at special venues, but also make friends for life.
