Keep an Eye Outstanding Talent Award 2023

4 december 2023

Outstanding

The Keep an Eye Foundation has been supporting Jong Metropole for several years. The Keep an Eye Outstanding Talent Award is a prize for the most exceptional talent of Jong Metropole. It recognizes the most inventive person who holds an exceptional place within the group. Therefore, the winner is not necessarily the best soloist or musician but can also be 'outstanding' in another area!

The prize will be especially customized: the musician who receives this award will have the opportunity to invest in masterclasses or study to develop her/his career .

Winner 2023

This year award goes to violinist Teddy Sicking!

Conductor Simon Dobson's explanation describes why Teddy deserves this:

"Our winner this year has shown a very high level of playing in both classical music and jazz. She has been a constant support and mentor to her section and has performed with true class and dedication. For me as a conductor, she has been a wonderfully understanding ally, involved at almost every level of this week-long process, always thinking and always listening. She has constantly thought about the overall shape of this musical journey and has encouraged other sections and musicians to interact and perform to their best ability. She is a natural leader, and she is our leader. It is a great pleasure for me to present this award to Teddy Sicking."

The prize consists of an amount of €5000, which the winner may spend on personal development.
