Audition and musicians

Jong Metropole is open to musicians who are at least 18 years old but less than 27 years old, and are studying at a conservatoire. Students at conservatoires in the Netherlands and students with the Dutch nationality at conservatoires outside of the Netherlands can apply to audition for a position in Jong Metropole. Jong Metropole decides about the placement of applicants, based on the advice of the audition jury. Please check Programme & planning for upcoming projects and audition dates.

Where classical and jazz meet

One of the most important goals of Jong Metropole is to bridge the gap between conservatoire education of individual students and professional practice. Jong Metropole offers conservatoire students an inspiring experience, creating and working together with the best conductors, coaches and other professionals. In this orchestra, students from both classical and jazz departments at conservatoires meet each other. They not only experience the unique Metropole formation and perform at special venues, but also make friends for life.

What we offer

In addition to rehearsals, gigs and tours, we offer training and coaching on a wide range of topics such as musicological backgrounds, mental and physical health aspects (injury prevention), career development, entrepreneurship and profiling & marketing.
